Renault has confirmed the pricing for its new face-lifted range of Scenic’s this week that made their debut earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show. The five seater Scenic and the seven seater Grand Scenic will be joined by a third model called the XMOD which is Renault’s more rugged Crossover inspired Scenic. The new XMOD is competitive priced and starts at ?17,995 and comes with two derivatives – the Expression+ and the Dynamique TomTom. The model comes with uniquely designed alloy wheels, continental mud and Snow tyres, roof bars, redesigned front and rear bumpers, body protection mouldings giving it a more outdoor look, along with an enhanced specification over the equivalent traditional Scenic. The XMOD is also the first vehicle to benefit from Renault’s new traction control system “Grip Xtend” giving three different driving modes – “Road”, “Loose Ground” and “Expert”. Road mode gives a traditional traction control setup with Automatic Slip Regulation (ASR) controling the braking on the front wheels and engine power. Loose Ground mode optimises braking and engine power depending on grip up to a speed of 25mph and Expert mode the system controls only the braking giving the driver full control still over the engine power to the wheels.
The revised tradition Scenic Dynamique TomTom’s start at ?19,155 for the Scenic and ?20,355 for the Grand Scenic. Specification includes 16″ alloy wheels, Carminat TomTom Sat Nav, parking sensors and climate control air conditioning. All three models will be available with five different engines, a 1.6 VVT 10bhp petrol, a 1.2 TCe 115bhp Stop and Start, a 1.2 TCe 130bhp Stop and Start, a 1.5 dCi 110bhp and finally a 1.6 dCi 130 Stop and Start.
Specification on the Scenic’s is high but there are seven different optional factory order interior packs that can be added featuring different items such as Visio Lane Departure System, dark carbon leather, sliding centre console and reverse parking camera. These can obviously hike up the price dependent on the pack chosen but for example the BOSE+ pack on the Grand Scenic and XMOD increases the price by ?1,500. All three Scenic models are available to order now.
