Porsche will be celebrating 50 years of the 911 at the International Motor Show hosted in Frankfurt this September with a 50 year special edition model of the car. This special edition Porsche will be limited to 1963 cars, another mark of when the car first came into production – half a century ago in Germany.
The 50 years edition will be powered by a 3.8 flat-six engine taken from the Carerra S but will be upgraded with the Porsche Powerkit increasing horsepower from 400bhp to 430bhp and will be available with the standard seven speed transmission or the optional dual clutch PDK.? Porsche claim the car can do 0-60 in just 4.2 seconds / 3.8 seconds with the optional PDK gearbox. Two special edition paint colours will also be available – a darker graphite grey and a light geyser grey and the car will also feature a specially designed 20″ set of alloy wheels based on the original 911 of 1963.
