The Top 10 Maddest Cars of 2013

Top Ten Modified Cars of 2013

2013 brought us an amazing selection of super cars with the Ferrari LaFerrari and McLaren P1 trio just a couple have come to mind. But tinkering away out of the headlines were the modified street car fans, working to get every last drop of horse power out of their engines… we buy any car at but it would be hard to put a price on these 15 heavily tuned cars.

The Outrageously aggressive Sound of a Turbo Charged Corvette C7 Stingray

This crazy Corvette was built by Lashway Motorsports based in Florida and despite the amazing performance added from the Vette getting a turbo charger, we think its the glorious exhaust note that will get people excited as its nothing short of spectacular. Although no details have been given with regard to the turbocharger unit fitted, we expect this C7 is pumping out well over 600bhp.

Modified Saab 9-5 with 762bhp

Perhaps one of the less assuming mods of the year has to be this Saab9-5 Saloon modified by Nordic tuning. This front wheel drive “sensible” car has been modified to 762bhp using the standard engine and it has so much power you can even wheel-spin it between 60-100mph!!!

Mad 1150bhp Volkswagen Golf Mk2 16v Turbo

This looks pretty much much like a run of the mill Golf that with today’s modern cars wouldn’t worry you too much should the driver decide to challenge you at the traffic lights, but should you take up the challenge and don’t happen to be sat in your Porsche or Lamborghini… you might be in for a shock as this Golf has been modified with a huge turbo-charger and produces 1150bhp and sticks to the road thanks to Volkswagens 4Motion all wheel drive system.

Nissan Skyline with a 0-62mph time of 1.2sec

This is what a run of 0-62mph in just 1.2 seconds looks like and its thanks thanks to this GTR 32’s modifications which help it produce 1500bhp.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX MR with 870bhp

Now we all know the fantastic performance that’s to be had from Mitsubishi’s famous Evo range, but this modified Lancer Evo IX MR boasts a 60-120mph time of just 4.59 seconds and revs round to 11,000 rpm.

BMW M3 E30 powered by a 1192bph M5 engine

This mental BMW E30 M3 has been fitted with a totally rebuilt 4.0 BMW M5 engine and has had a turbo-charger the size of a bucket fitted to it finally resulting in a uncontrollable 1192bhp monster.

The worlds fastest Volkswagen Polo

Faster than a Bugatti Veyron this is the fastest Volkswagen Polo on the earth. Capable of accelerating from 0-186mph in an unbelievable 9 seconds (the Bugatti takes 14.6 seconds) this 1200bhp pocket rocket has been treated to a new 3.3 litre engine and paired with a ridiculously large turbo thanks to car tuners “Speedmakers Vogtland”.

?Power Ultima TT 427 GTR with 1750bhp

Another American tuning company here who have took one our British kit-cars – the Ultima TT 427 GTR (which already comes standard with a 720bhp Chevy V8 engine) and swapped it for a twin-turbo 7.0 litre V8. Just to add that little more excitement they have decided to run it on race fuel! – Oh and did I mention is weighs less than a Ferrari 458?

Saleen S7 2200bhp – Nearly rips itself from Dyno

This is an American Saleen S7 with all-wheel drive tuned to 2,200 horsepower by a Russian company called Total Race. Details are minimal but it is believed that this monster is powered by a 10.2 litre twin-turbocharged V8.

The standard S7’s were powered by a 7.0 litre 750bhp unit and could do a 0-60mph time of just 2.8 seconds and move onto a top speed of 248mph.

And Finally the 5000hp Devel Sixteen

This is the Devel Sixteen, a hyper car that was revealed at the 2013 Dubai International Motor Show. No proof as yet of the cars claimed performance has been given but if true the car produces a bonkers 5,000bhp, a 0-60mph of just 1.8 seconds and can rocket onto a top speed of a staggering 347.96mph. The only video I can find which provides a slow driveby but at least a recording of the sound of the car is available below –
